The luxurious Grand Velas Riviera Maya has completed a major transformation of its youth facilities, introducing reimagined kids’ and teens’ clubs guaranteed to make family all-inclusives a better-than-ever proposition.
With a nod to Mayan cultural experiences, the just-renovated spaces mark another milestone for the 539-suite luxury all-inclusive resort located along Mexico’s Caribbean coast between Playa del Carmen and Tulum.
Inspired by the surrounding lush Yucatan jungle, the club features indoor and outdoor spaces where kids aged four to 12 can have fun from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
Grand Velas Riviera Maya Kids’ Programs
Hands-on learning through traditional craft workshops tops the list of fun things to do including making pinatas and weaving Ojos de Dios, the region’s colorful yarn.

The popular culinary program has been expanded, too, and now features fun cooking experiences where children can decorate their own cupcakes, cookies, and crepes under the guidance of the resort’s culinary team.
Budding young bakers get to work with the resort’s pastry chefs and learn the basics while creating their own tasty treats.
Teen Territory Gets a Major Upgrade
The teens’ club, catering to guests aged 12 to 17, has undergone an equally impressive transformation. Open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with evening hours reserved exclusively for the 12-and-up crowd, the facility now features billiards, foosball tables, and PlayStation 5 consoles. A dedicated disco room provides a safe, supervised environment for evening entertainment.

The second floor expansion adds an arcade area, sports simulators, as well as VIP cinema room. It all adds up to making the resort’s teen facility one of the largest in the Riviera Maya.
Cultural programming for teens includes specialized workshops in Huichol beadwork, the intricate art form practiced by indigenous communities in western Mexico, and bracelet making using traditional techniques. Cooking classes tailored for older children explore regional Yucatecan specialties like cochinita pibil and sopa de lima, connecting young travelers to local culinary traditions
Wellness for the Whole Family
Both the Grand Velas Riviera Maya Kids’ and Teens’ Clubs incorporate wellness activities into their daily schedules.
Mini yoga sessions are now available and are specifically designed for youngsters while exciting eco-tour adventures introduce them to natural cenotes and mangrove areas on the resort’s sprawling property.
The Jungle Kids’ Spa addition complements the property’s existing SE Spa, a Forbes Five-Star facility spanning over 90,000 sq ft in the resort’s adults-only Zen Grand section.
Beyond Grand Velas Riviera Maya Kids Clubs
Families staying at the resort can access additional recreational options including kayaking, snorkeling, and beach volleyball. The property maintains partnerships with two of the region’s best championship golf courses: El Camaleón, designed by Greg Norman and located just five minutes away, and Grand Coral, a 10-minute drive from the resort.
The resort’s all-inclusive structure covers all meals at its restaurants, premium beverages, 24-hour in-suite service, and gratuities. Suites across all three sections feature private terraces with plunge pools, marble bathrooms with separate tubs and rain showers, and personalized concierge service

The timing of these renovations aligns with growing demand for sophisticated family travel experiences in the Mexican Caribbean. The resort, which operates three distinct sections – the tranquil Zen Grand for adults, the beachfront Ambassador for families, and the sophisticated Grand Class for guests 12 and older – has long been recognized for its ability to cater to different travel styles within a single property.
Just the Facts
